Do You Know AIDS Is The Later Stage of HIV?

Many people suffering from HIV/AIDS may not even know that they are ill because sometimes occur for a week and then disappears for years. Few of them do not even develop symptoms.  Although, there are many symptoms to this disease which is essential to be known;

• Within few days of infection, people may feel weak, tired, ill, headache and also enlarged lymph nodes but these may disappear in a week or more and this asymptomatic phase may lasts for years

• The progression of disease may vary from differently; the state may lastup to 10 years.  During this period virus continues to develop and kills the cells that are warriors of the body i.e. white blood cells called CD4 cells

• Even if the person is not showing any symptoms s/he is likely to transfer the disease to others

AIDS is the later stage of HIV. It occurs when the body loses its ability to fight infection. If the number of white blood cells fall low than the person is said to be infected from AIDS. The number of CD4 (white blood cell) be low due to any other infection or disease. But if CD4 count fall low enough than person is said to have AIDS. The infection that is caused due to AIDS is known as opportunistic infection. Opportunistic infection as the name suggests they take advantage of opportunity infects a weak host or body. A body is said to be weak when the warriors or CD4 cells fall low. HIV/AIDS, despite of being the alarming issue there are vaccine and medications to cure the disease. Treatment can slow the course of disease but cannot completely diminish the problem. The best cure for the disease is to prevent you from it, Prevention is better than cure. The health organizations are promoting anti-AIDS programs and educating people about the safe sex so that they can prevent themselves from falling for it.
